Prior to this Denney had spent years playing at club nights around the North of England and working for the legendary Back to Basics in Leeds. With hours spent educating himself on music, networking and dedicating countless days in the studio he swiftly began to reap the rewards of his hard work with releases on highly acclaimed labels such as VIVa Music, Saved Records, 2020Vision and of course Hot Creations.
Denney’s undeniable talents as a DJ have lead him to play all over the world leaving his mark on Europe, Australia and America, with a highlight at the notorious DC10 in Ibiza for Jamie Jones’ Paradise. His style is unmistakable with intricately blending house and techno with a distinct ability to conjure a euphoric atmosphere. Performing alongside some of the world’s key names, Denney has shown a modest, unfaltering style – whether playing a warm up or main room set he always delivers.
2014 was undoubtedly another phenomenal year for Denney. Things moved swiftly from strength to strength landing a residency at the club night Back to Basics, a huge honour and holding major importance to him. After signing with NGE booking Agency, who look after the likes of Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus and Art Department, an intensive touring schedule took Denney across the globe gracing DJ booths at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues such as Fabric and Mint Club. With VIVa boss Steve Lawler fully behind the rapidly rising star signing him to VIVa Music Management, 2015 became an even more prolific year for Denney.
Firmly at the forefront of the underground music spectrum, the start of the year saw him release one of 2015’s most revered productions. Conquering clubs and festivals across the globe, ‘Low Frequency’ rocketed to the top of the Beatport charts sitting at number 1 for over five weeks once again showcasing Denney’s un-paralleled vision and production style. With the summer season drawing closer he showed no sign of taking his feet off the pedal; highlighted by holding a residency at one of Ibiza’s most sought after events, VIVa Warriors as well as making appearances at Jamie Jones’ Paradise and Manchester’s The Warehouse Project.
Forever pushing and breaking musical boundaries, the end of 2015 once again held momentous things for Denney, including a massive re-release of ‘Low Frequency’ on Ministry Of Sound which saw the track break into the UK top 100 chart. Along with the ‘On & On’ EP on VIVa MUSiC, and his stellar production ‘Acid (You’re Free)’ featuring on Poker Flat, the young artist continues to reiterate his ever-burning presence on the international dance music scene.
With a US tour planned for 2016, and releases scheduled on the likes of 2020Vision, the stage is set for Denney to continue to carve his name into underground music’s illustrious hall of fame.
