Join us at Mixo this Boxing Day for another festive knees-up complete with the return of Purple Room and one of the most revered selectors in the UK headlining Red Room. We welcome the incredible Shadow Child to Mixology!
Shadow Child debuted in 2012 after impressive success under his electro house alias Dave Spoon. With a tougher four-to-the-floor beat sound influenced by his passion for drum’n’bass and hardcore, Shadow Child released the string-haunting, no-nonsense bassline stomper ‘String Thing’ on Claude Von Stroke’s ‘Ditrybird’. The scenes most influential tastemakers took notice immediately with the likes of Annie Mac, Jaymo & Andy George, Eats Everything and Justin Martin making it a staple in their sets.
Since then he has continued to release infectious dancefloor productions for labels such as Moda Black, Hot Creations, Unknown-to-the-Unknown, Toolroom, Defected and his co-owned label ‘Food Music’.
Joining Shadow Child on the line-up are our three residents Tom Skinner, James Chan and Dan Clare who will be warming-up Red Room into a frenzy! Dan will be playing b2b with Dylan as his alias Maur and you can expect to hear plenty of unreleased material from them and forthcoming tracks on the MXO Records label. There latest release on MXO has been picked up by some huge DJs including David Guetta, Roger Sanchez, etc.
We’re also delighted to welcome back Mixmag’s Funster to Mixology! Funster’s set was one of the highlights of last year’s Boxing Day event and we can’t wait for more Chunk fuelled vibes!
With the return of Purple Room – Dan Wallace & Jason Veitch’s ‘Source’ will host the intimate room. Their excellent parties in Stamford have seen the likes of Kinnerman, Del-30 and the Mixo residents all featuring. Joining Dan & Jason in Purple Room is rising talent Roobinz! Roobinz’s edit of ‘Hideaway’ has been championed all summer by the likes of Latmun & Paco Osuna. The latter, revered selector closing with the track at ‘Music On’ multiple times. Expect to hear some huge unreleased material from Roobinz as well at Mixo!
