Mixology 3rd Birthday with Bicep!

MIXOLOGY 3RD BIRTHDAY EASTER ALL NIGHTER
2 ROOM – 12 HOURS – 16 DJS | FRIDAY 3RD APRIL

It’s our third birthday this April and to celebrate we thought we’d host another 12 hour special event featuring 16 DJs across 2 rooms on 3rd of April (Good Friday) ; Red Room and the return of Purple Room. When you read below the acts we have performing, you might have to look twice, just to be sure you read it correctly!

Introducing our headline act for our 3rd Birthday Special:

BICEP
Bicep are a duo that hails from Belfast, brought together through a common obsession with all things analog. Their blog, Feel My Bicep, has grown to be the first port of call for those searching for cutting-edge and hard-to-find Disco (nu and old) / Chicago-House / Detroit Techno / Italo / edits and the like. Growing with an amalgamation of jazz, rock and funk helped Bicep form an obscure approach and understanding of music.

After each picking up a pair of Technics turntables in their early teens, Andy and Matt set about collecting records and experimenting to find their own style. Skip forward several years and countless DJ gigs and they realised they needed to make their own brand- succumbing to, as Bicep describe it, “80s inspired analog house“.

We at Mixology are huge fans of the duo and are incredibly grateful and honoured that they will be headlining our 3rd Birthday. Bicep will be headlining Red Room with support from Mixology Residents – Dan Clare, James Chan & Tom Skinner; Mixmag’s Funster and C.O.Z.

MORGAN HAMMER
Headlining Purple Room is one of the most exciting up-and-coming acts we’ve featured recently at Mixology. The French DJ and producer has been crafting her very own concoctions of acid-infected techno with post-punk, disco, and new wave leanings for some years now.

Morgan has constantly developed her approach to techno, connecting the dots between her first love of Kompakt and minimal, with her fascination with house royalty from Ivan Smagghe to Andrew Weatherall and the darker shades of 80s disco-funk.

She’s been wowing crowds at the likes of Bugged Out’s NYE party at Studio Spaces, The Nest in Dalston and the exceptional, left-field thinking, Moog club in Barcelona. Expect her genre-defying approach and quest for a unique sound to be perfectly mirrored by her eclectic DJ set. A set not to be missed!

TRONIK YOUTH
We welcome back Tronik Youth after his fantastic debut at the Boxing Day Mixology.
Remixing over 75 records during the past ten years, including a remix for then unknown band The Gossip in 2006, Tronik Youth is an act who has been releasing quality productions for almost a decade. He has worked for a variety of labels and in 2012 created Nein Records with business partner/friend Ian Considine.

Also on the Purple Room bill is Mixology’s Jenny Twenty; the excellent Contra Disco promotion featuring residents Jonah Considine and Ed Lee and regular Mixology guest selector Dan Gilchrist. Purple Room is a must for anyone with a left-field inclination towards dance music. Expect good vibes all night.

Get your tickets early for this one. We’re gonna be celebrating turning three in extra special style. See you at the front.
